Do you trust Apple to tell you the truth? Unless you wrote the software that operates your phone and watch you have no idea where your data is going no matter what setup buttons you select. If you have ever written software you know how the game is played.
I trust Apple to a limited extent. They're the only ones making certain claims.
I have developed software, and I'm rather well-connected in the hacking and reverse-engineering communities. Apple products are *far* from perfect, and yes, there's still MUCH more they could do to protect privacy. But so far I haven't found any better solutions out there, and I also haven't seen anyone provide credible evidence that Apple is willfully lying about how health and watch data is handled. (And I know a number of people who work for organizations who investigate precisely this.)
You can never trust any company absolutely, but that doesn't mean that every company is equal to every other company, either. I trust Apple a whole lot more than I do Google or Amazon. |
