Subject: RE: Why I buy snap on tools.

Texas
I do have a couple issues with Snap-on .

The rebranded , things - for example their welding helmets , lights and a bunch of other things all of items carry The snap on cost . The rebranded stuff is a big rip off .

I do have some blue point tools , im pretty sure its china made at snap on cost .

They had the best ajustable wrenchrs , but changed .

Snap -on is far from perfect , i will say they make the best wrenches and sockets .

I also dont / have not ever had any of their cordless tools .

They are ( i think ) 3x + the cost of milwalkee .

Everyone here can feel free to flame me on this next one - i used a bunch of Pitysburg impact sockets in the truck shop . very good for the cost .

Best value at HF , the little blue lights . change to good batteries , last a long time , I think 1.79 $ . They also have some red flashing lights .About 5$ . got some in pickup . I think they could be really good to warn people on an accident scene .

The little orange o ring pick set is very cheap , about 1$

The tinted glasses are good and cheap .

The sandpaper used to be a super good deal
, we sanded alot of tractors with it . They caught on to that , its not the deal it was .

The plastic air hoses are JUNK ,They do have a better red rubber hose thats good .

I have found the pittsburg pliars are junk . The Doyle stuff is pretty good . Got a bunch of in my mule and tractors .

I dont have one myself , but the good daytona car jack is used in pro tire shops here . I asked a fellow if they are good . He said yes . They stand up in a very busy tire shop .busy as in probally 6 cars and pickups there all the time .

They had that jackstand problem , almost got my son hurt
I threw those bastards in a car we were crushing , called snappy guy , i said get me 2 sets of 3 ton and 2 sets of 6 ton . Were they cheap ? No . do i think we wont want to die . well yes .

I have been a snappy tool box guy all my life . I never paid full price for one .

I had 2 main big boxes and a tool cart in my entire 40 year working . I did actually pretty much wear out the first one , it went 30 years.

There is a little known secret for buying a snap on box , The dealers have to repo boxes . My dealer had a place he stored them . He did not very often carry them on truck . My last box was a repo. hardly used . 10,000 new . I paid 3000$ .

There are many 10-15,000. + tool boxes at JB that guys got brand new , Guess a pride thing ?

I by no means had the biggest box , but i had stuff in it to fix things .
