Bottom of the Mitten | The devices that plug into the obd port to supposedly monitor driving habits have been around a long time. As far as phone use, that is a gray area. I get it that they want to cut down on texting and driving. My understanding is phone use varies from state to state, but in my state you're supposed to be hands free. Can't hold a phone in your hand but it can be mounted in a holder on the dash. You can still use the phone if its paired through the radio or an ear piece. I use mine regularly for Spotify and navigation (both paired through the radio). Maybe i pulled into a parking lot to text or take a call with the car running on a cold winter day. So are they going to jack my rates up or cancel me because i used my phone in a legal and safe fasion? To answer your question, no i wouldn't do it. They don't need to know every last detail about my life, they know enough as it is
