Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
If you need to move one wire in the connector, removing it and inserting it in the desired locations would seem reasonable. If you are unable to remove it, an option is to purchase a new socket, cut the wire and attach it to the new pin and insert that into the desired location. Be aware that the cut off wire will still be live at times and could short out. A new pin or socket is quite expensive.

Removing and moving it would be the most desirable but they can be difficult to remove even with the proper tool. If you ever replace one make certain that the crimp you make on the wire is as "nice and round" as possible or you will have even more problems releasing it if necessary.

The locking mechanism consists of a square piece of plastic which is part of a new pin or socket. When the pin or socket is installed, this square of plastic temporarily gets distorted as it is inserted. This allows it to pass through a restricted passage way but eventually reaches a larger cavity which is the size/shape of the undistorted piece of plastic. The plastic then returns to its undistorted shape and is locked in the cavity.

To remove a socket or pin requires that the plastic square again gets distorted so that the pin/socket and wire can be removed. To do this a tool can be placed in the small gaps outside the pin. You can see them in your picture especially in the one that is empty. These are the notches as can be seen on the empty location. The special tool (spendy) is inserted into those slots and pushed in with the hope of distorting the plastic so that is will pass through the locking passageway. This sometimes takes several attempts with pushing the tool inward and wiggling around on the wire.

Some have made a homemade tool out of two cotter keys of the general size. The cutter keys are ground down with a grinder to closely fit the gaps in the plastic. Each modified cutter key is placed in the gap in an attempt to again distort the plastic square. I have not tried this approach since we had the proper tool when I worked as a Tech. Even with the proper tool, it was sometimes difficult.

Good Luck.
