That safety filter lasts a looooong time as long as you are careful to keep the housing clean while servicing the primary and have no holes in the primary filter. It is not something that needs to be looked at very frequently. I just changed the one in my 71 because it was so old that the rubber boot was deteriorating. I thinki it was dated from the mid 90's. As long as the rubber boot is intact and the filter service light is not on there is no reason to mess with it. I expect the new one to outlast me. | |
