As stated above they're a royal pain to release.

They take a two forked tool like this:

There are much cheaper options around, such as a terminal release kit, something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Kuntech-Universal-Terminal-Electrical-Connect...

"ought" to have a release tool in it that will work.

The really cheap kits on a keychain are tougher to work with, they are flimsy and it's already difficult to de-pin.
