Northeast Iowa | Connectors like these will only create a rub point for the filaments to wear through and eventually short. On tape gates, I’ve taken either Premier’s Maxi-shock or soft high tensile wire and connect it to the gate handle and the other end to carry the current. The tape is there as a visual reminder to cattle and deer that the gate is there.
