Today I went to harbor freight to look for a compression tester for a snow blower and i purchased a Maddox compression tester which should be good and work in a pinch right?? Well hooked it up to the engine and needle flickered on gauge but wouldn’t hold. So thought maybe the schrader valve on hose wasn’t sealing. Well hooked it back to engine again. Needle just flickers and wouldn’t hold. Well then i started messing with the valve on the gauge and pressing it and flicking it. Then hooked an air hose up to it at 60psi and still wouldn’t hold air. Messed with the pressure release valve on the gauge some more then I could get it to hold air with the sir hose. Hooked back to engine and spun it over again and after a few more times of messing the that relief valve then could get it to hold compression. But come on when I buy something new I want it to work out of the box. I can guarantee the snap on would have worked. There is just better craftsmanship. When it comes to tools you get what you pay for. Just frustrating was thinking this engine was dead but then I was like well it does run bet this trusty harbor freight special is junk. I was right.[/QUOTEI]If that was me i would have laid it on the cement floor and hit it with a big hammer, ahh the joy and laughter, lol |
