Probably 5-10k. Have to have enough to pay for feed truck/mixer, loader, maybe a crude feed mill. These guys with the big yards operate on small margins and the bigger ones have behind the scene deals with the big packers because they can guarantee them numbers throughout the year. What they say they are making or losing is likely not the real story.
