Callao Missouri | Ill be the odd man out here but don't discount my advice because its not flashsy. Forget the Apache just 2wd, neighbor has one and not completely satisfied. Also stay away from Deere, machine is too heavy.
For small farm 16-1700 acres find 2 older sprayers. Me personally im in love with CIH patriot sprayers. I have an old cream colored xl and a 3185. You can buy them worth the money, they also just flat out run with very few problems. They are cheap enough you can have 2.
Now reason for 2 sprayers. Incase of breakdown. Ive only had that happen once or twice but with a backup there is no emergency. I don't hardly ever have to rinse out during season. One does burn down, the other corn. Later one post sprays beans, and the other gets Y drops. I try to keep the liquid N application to the older one because i can successfully make a mess with that stuff.
Also make sure you get a set of floater tires. They are a game changer. You can spray 2 Days before anything else. I don't worry about sprayer width vs planter etc. use gps. Also around here 90ft is big enough to be a pain in the rear sometimes 120 would be to big.
I have a semi trailer rigged up that hauls the sprayer on a saddle, tank of water on front, chemical right behind water. Turns spraying into a one man show. Always dump your ams into tank before you leave the farm. And before any chemical hits un treated water.
Ignore the local coop for chemical, there are wholesale outlets. Use them. | |
