Farmers willing to convert cropland to pasture and set up intensive grazing management systems? I know most guys on “here” don’t want government help but NRCS basically pays you for your fencing, watering systems including winter waterers and even a well if needed. Of course the EQIP program is voluntary but you would think you would see more grazing systems going in, especially since row crop prices are in the shidder.

I'm currently in an EQIP contract for setting up new grazing system on the home farm that just started last month after first preconstruction meeting. I applied for it over 3 years ago and it's taken this long to get this far. Hopefully it goes smoothly from here on out but it's a little more complicated than most like to believe. At this point for what I'm implementing for water infrastructure I think I should have just paid for it on my own and gotten the benefit that much sooner than haul water 3-4 years.
