AyrMesh's product will reach out at longer distances, and penetrate typical metal buildings....if you live in a rural area where 2.4GHz wireless signals are very few, if any. At 1/2 mile using a Smartphone, no issues....I've not tried to see how far it can reach out. Inside a machine shed at 433 feet away, it still works with doors closed. As noted, another device could be mounted to rebroadcast inside a building.
Doing an underground Ethernet cable would be ideal, unless there are underground utilities in the way, or hard driveway, etc. But, higher cost unless you have access to equipment required to dig it.
