Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | In my situation my combine does have the Deere Steering valve (I purchased the combine used and the previous owner had used Deere auto steer) so I should have been able to utilize it with either Steer Command Legacy or Steer Command Z2. I actually have a legacy Steer Command that is no longer being used.
I chose not to and went with Steady Steer. My concern was invading the Deere system with Ag Leader control. The absolute last thing I wanted to happen was that I wouldn't be able to steer manually and not be able to harvest.
My thinking was that since the Steady Steer motor did not invade the Deere system in any way (it just turns the steering wheel for me) that I could just steer manually if it failed. My fears were likely unfounded but I have been happy with the Steady Steer motor arrangement. |
