| Just a note of appreciation - I don't check in all that often, but I do enjoy many of the links I see on this site. Thanks to everyone here.
Our youngest kid was home awhile back for a visit. He is good friends with many people who are young and successful in various fields like health conscious diet, cutting edge AI coding, etc. Many of these people, just a few years ago, were probably anti red meat - especially fatty meat. These are the people now who are contributing to the bull market in cattle. They want to eat beef - and they can afford to eat beef at whatever the price currently is. I'm guessing that they are at least partly responsible for the inelastic nature of the cattle market today. Our son suffers from celiac disease, and his preferred diet is beef and oranges.
Anyway, he had just arrived here and his mom cooked steak and oven-roasted vegetables. He, of course, overate, and didn't feel real good for awhile. I told him that, when he got back to his friends, and they asked him how the visit was, he could tell them - good, once he survived a poisoning attempt by his mother. He looked at me with a puzzled look. After a pause, I said - vegetables. He was looking forward to relating that to them. | |
