I'm with the young lady. I can't see risking my children wondering what else they can't trust me on, especially on something as trivial as Santa Claus. Will they think I've mislead them regarding Christ? Not worth it, IMO.
Another thing to consider, what is to keep them from imitating me and tell me fictional tales about things they did or did not do after I set an example by misleading them on something for years?
