If the current service is stable, I would be careful changing it. The free or discounted offers often come with caps, slower speeds, or priority issues. It is still worth calling your provider and asking for a senior or loyalty rate, many have them but do not advertise. If fiber really forces bundles, it may not save much once fees add up, so compare the total monthly cost before switching.
