Subject: Range trading

SW Ohio
I'm a garden farmer. Small. Limited bushels to sell. I had been buyIng and selling options through the grain elevator. Their fees are triple what a brokerage would do for you. It greatly limited what I wanted to do. Plus, getting ahold of a merchandiser in the sensitive time caused lost profits.
So after enough legwork, I had a StoneX trading account. 1/3 the price, email trades completed in 5 mins or less and control over my limited bushels via options.
My favorite thing to do is sell options. The last 50 days, this has worked tremendously. The delta sucks in all options ( great for anyone wanting to buy long puts, July doesnt cost much more than March at this point). I mostly ignore the delta and target premium at certain strikes.
Legged straddles are my newest plays. Primarily was buildong min max contracts with long puts and short calls.
So trading the range. I dislike buying options, very rare to buy calls. Yesterday I bought march26 4.50 puts. Takes a little pressure off thd July26 puts that are sold. Also sets the stage to sell atm calls on a bounce.
My plan is to have long puts on 25 and 26 bushels prior to the crop report. With some atm calls sold. Im leaving the sold puts in place to continue time decay.
march26 4.60 sell for .10, dec26 4.80 for .30 next targets.
Im building premium to be able to buy futures back after cash sales. It will be with house money.
Thought I would share how I complicate the hell out of marketing but basically rehypothicate 35k bu of corn and 12k of soybeans, over and over again. Cash side and brokerage side!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Havent seen much market talk
