That is my thought too.
In my mind, the only type of row crop operation that would use this "whole life as a piggy bank" method is an operation that was mostly inherited because you need to pump out cashflow to fund this plan to make it meaningful.
There is a reason no other businesses fund this way. Farming is still a business.
