Pittsburg, Kansas | Funny you say about that.
Quite a few years ago now the silver to gold ratio got somewhere around 90-1. I have always been partial to silver but my wife has preferred gold. Go figure. In our Roth IRA brokerage acounts we had about the same mix of CEF and PSLV. CEF is about half gold half silver where PSLV is all silver. When the ratio got so wide and since it was a ROTH IRA no tax concequences I sold a bunch of my CEF and reinvested it in PSLV.
Well my wifes account has been performing better than mine for a long time now. Until today. Oh she is still ahead of me but the gap is closing pretty quickly. We had over the years contributed pretty closely to the same amounts although actually mine had a little more contributions. We both took wages from our respective corporations and maxed out our IRA's every year (and about ten years ago before retirement paid a bunch of taxes and converted a pretty fair amount from regular to ROTH also).
Anyway you asking that made me laugh. Yeah, I converted ----- the wrong way LOL. But I may have the last laugh before it is over. Not that it matters. I have been the one doing all the investing in the accounts anyway. But I always ask her what she wants to do. I'm glad hers is ahead of mine. Still. |
