When my heifers appear to be getting close I restrict their feed to only the nighttime hours. Feed cake as soon as it gets dark and open a gate so they can get to free choice hay. Close the gate first thing in the morning. Since I’ve been using this program I would guess 80% of my calves have been born mid afternoon.
