Vauxhall Alberta Canada | Just make sure they get plenty of exercise and they should be fine. Don't overfeeding them and check them regularly starting at least a couple weeks before they are supposed to start calving. Usually will get some early ones especially twins. We have never had to cut out a calf in the 35 years we have been doing this and have had all sorts of heifers from all sorts of breeding programs. One other thing that I think helps is walking through them everyday so they get used to it. That way when calving starts they are used to your presence and are way easier to handle if they need assistance. | |
