Subject: RE: Poaching Workers

A lot of truth to this. Have some local guys paying ”really good” money but their guys work 12 hour days 7 days a week all year doing farm work and chicken or hog barn work. After a while it gets old and they realize man I am not making what i should be. Farming is a busy life at certain times of the year, but no harm in taking a day off once in a while to enjoy life and family. We used to push really hard then realized it wasn’t worth it. Wear everyone down and get less productivity. Let them take a day off to enjoy and hang out with friends and family. We have some part time help that sometimes will fill in on days off. Spraying is a little harder to fill in but get the point. You start poaching guys and then they feel entitled because you came to them. They tend to abuse the system more.
