To keep em under the boot of the US dollar which oil is tied to.
This. The Petro Dollar allows us to print more dollars while restraining the inflation it would cause. Venezuela is selling oil without demanding US Dollars as payment. Big Oil and Big Banksters are trying to put a stop to it.
