ECMN | I don’t understand how you could possibly like clicking each individual reply to view it??? Or did you mean to say you use nested view? I am usually on Yesterday’s Tractors forums go over there and create a log in and check out the format there. They have been on it about two years. The old format had a view style that when in a thread the newest reply was always on top (wow have to think now how it was) I think the original post stayed on top but the 2nd window below it was the newest reply and other replies were chronological in descending time order below that. There were those on that forum that adamantly thought that was the way God intended forums to be. When they made the switch to this format the long time moderators made a fix so they could mimic that format. Since then the long time moderators retired about a year and a half ago, in September the current moderators announced that the “fix” to allow that view style was causing to much trouble to “repatch” when the software needed routine updates so it went away. A few members got PO’d and left but so it goes. The normal current view lays out as Flat does here. What I like most about the format is the internal alert system. If you start a thread or make a reply it tracks those and you access your list by an “Alert bell” (button)on the header. It shows you a list of the “content added” to threads you have participated in, by what member, a sentence or so of what they said, and a the thread title which is a link that takes you right to the thread. It’s great for me to follow up on help suggestions I have made and what the OP or other members have added. That was long winded but it is slow today on YT. | |
