East of Broken Bow | We always told our kids that Santa was who you told what you wanted for Christmas, don't think we ever told them that Santa was the one that brought them.
At one point a few years back, my oldest asked if Santa really brought the presents, and I told her that Santa helps us figure out what to get her and her little sister because they always told him what they wanted (while we were standing right there), and maybe not ruin it for her little sister.
It went over pretty smoothly, far as I could tell. I mean, they get to a certain age and figure out you are getting them the gifts anyway, I just told the truth that we used 'Santa' to get them to say what they wanted. She just giggled a little, said 'I knew it', and never did tell her sister far as I know. | |
