| I don't know if my parents told me about Santa Claus, but I never lied to my kids about Santa Claus. I do know my youngest memories of Santa Claus was being taken to get pictures with someone I knew was a fake. I also knew that if I told my younger siblings about Santa Claus, we probably wouldn't get candy in our stockings. So when one of them started questioning or figured it out, that they should not tell Mom and Dad that they knew either. There are lots of lies that parent's do not have to tell kids, but they still know. They pick it up from other kids and media. For instance, most kids my age knew that Mikey died when his stomach blew up from eating too many pop rocks. We also learn a couple of years later, that Mikey was still alive. | |
