| Way too much thought being put into this, our kids believed in Santa for awhile, I liked it because it was one time of the year we could spoil the kids a bit without them knowing that we as parents did it. I do not believe that kids should have every want and whim given to them at every turn, nor priased at every turn or told how special they are. Maybe I am wrong, but when I tell my kids good job or well done, looks good etc. it means something. One thing we were always adamanent about is there were no family Christmas parties, celebrations gift excahnges, (school was different) till after Christmas mass, but we always attend the vigil so makes it easier, in my mind it stesses the true reason for/ meaning of Christmas or at least puts some dimension of importance on the true meaning of Christmas. | |
