After pulling trees for a couple years I also found out that I wasted my time and actually made it worse when they sprouted from the broken roots.
I've started basal bark treating them first with Remedy and diesel.
Crossbow didn't work well for me probably because it is mostly 2,4-d. I will add a little 2,4-d to my Remedy mix.
