Kansas City area | Are there good sources like this forum for home appliances? I am looking for details to help diagnose an issue with a refrigerator.
It is a Frigidaire Gallery, has French doors with the freezer on the bottom. It is pooling water in the bottom of the refrigerator compartment which then freezes. I’ve cleaned it out a few times. Recently I fully unplugged and disassembled, at back of freezer is the evaporator coils and controls, there was ice on the sides where holes come down from the refrigerator above - the condenser fins were clear. Confirmed the drain below this was flowing. I thawed out and dried out everything and it cooled back down, but now a few days later I have ice again in the bottom Of the fridge part.
At this point suspecting defrost thermostat or heater, but looking for good diagnostic guidance on that so I know what I am looking for before I tear in again. | |
