mercer county, il | We learned the same. Anymore, we try to treat trees along field edges or places we’re going to clear in late winter with a basal bark treatment. Even pretty large trees can be killed if your timing is right. And anything tree puller size (6-8” here) is pretty much a sure kill.
Usually we use 3qt diesel fuel and 1 qt of crossbow. Add an oz of milestone if it’s hedge, or a pint of dicamba if it’s multi flora rose. But for mulberries, sassafras, locust, Chinese elm, just the diesel and crossbow work good here. | |
