Subject: County mains for tile.

NE ND
Tiling on our farm has required lift stations. Gravity flow would be great, but there are not any coulees or creeks with proper drop nearby to use.
I am interested in how county mains work.
On Ag Talk I have read posts from farmers hooking on to county mains.
What diameter are these mains?
How can they be sized large enough for future added acres?
How long are the mains you are using?
Is land that isn’t tied into the county main still assessed for its installation and maintenance?
Once a main is kinda maxed out, I would think adding more acres could cause hard feelings and problems.
Are there instances where a parallel main is installed later?
I am interested in any experiences you all might share.
Merry Christmas to all.
