| "To contextualise these costs in terms of the agrochemicals market, in 2014 herbicides contributed £0.2bn to the UK National Agrochemical Market, the total value of which was £0.6bn (ECPA Industry Statistics, 2018). Some of our estimates of the costs of resistance in England are greater than the entire value of herbicides to the UK agrochemicals market."

This is a growing world wide problem. Its not just weather.. nor trade wars.. nor actual wars.. but actual production processes which are threatened.
Production costs are increasing logarithmically. I nor any poster on here.. "We" can not make "blanket statements" about.. costs.. yields.. nor local markets.
Yet we do (I'm guilty) all the time.
A "see and spray".. sprayer is useless.. when all it "sees" is pigweeds. See pigweed photo above..
This farmdoc article shows how southern states are more reliant upon tillage to fight weed resistance.. which is moving north.

After being asked about the prospects for a rally.. by a younger producer.. working his side hustle changing tires at the Coop (Salute btw) the kid just wants a chance to farm..
"What are the prospects that wheat rallies above my production costs?"
Hes probably got some left.. incurring storage costs.. at the coop. I thought about his plight.. as well as others.. when I posted this.
Its a tight pickle we find ourselves in.. production costs wise.
