IF I had my regular tractor and 1 man for half a day I would be done with mine and on to custom work!
If you get the old 4840 on an icy f slope and 750 bushel behind it, one would be done in short order!
The ground has to be thawed enough the corn does not stick to it but frozen enough the tractor will pull the wagon.
Dad always said a day October is better than a good week in December!
I just have been out of sync with the world this year.
Once you are out of sync everything takes longer.
I put over 5,000 miles on just one pickup the last month. I am at least 25% over my usual combine hours, and still have more to go.
I have at least a day of cleaning up spills where we had problems.
I am thinking about just hauling in with the combine. What is left will vary from a mile to mile and a half to the bin. IF I haul with the tractor, it is 2 dumps max, plus I still have to haul a half a mile to the wagon.
