Only failed swing I have in play is rented out cotton acres on crop rent, if price drops as far as you have written there , I’ll lose some really good young farmers ,if it hasn’t went further at end of harvest and with very weak china sales but promises of some to come ,I’m hoping bottom is in , covid collapse was only thing cheaper in recent years ,although I’m hearing a super flu is around
I understand. It's gonna be painful. I have been beating the drum that these formations are designed to do exactly what you said . I have been pondering how to add more protection or if it's even necessary. There's bridge payments, arc/plc and crop insurance and who knows what else is coming.. The question I am pondering is it is worth buying higher levels of protection like ECO since it's supposedly going to be subsidized higher this year. Normally I would even consider it, but given the circumstances, maybe it's something that should be considered. I don't know if such a thing exists in cotton but it might be worth investigating. Once, it's over they will never have to farm though it again, just gotta make there.
