North of London | Lots of scepticism but I can see roads with a special lane that you pull onto and follow as your vehicle recharges.
those would not have to be that common, just available at spaced out distances mostly on main roads for long distance travel.
The one thing that people say is the drawback to EV's is the recharge time on long drives so a charging lane on occasion would solve that with no lost time unlike stopping to pump fuel into the tank.
And although there are roads that do not last long I can take you for a drive on a divided 4 lane road with the original surface that I drove on in 1963 a day before the official opening.
Being young with young passengers we ignored the saw horses set up to keep traffic off it before the official opening at noon the next day.
Not saying that road was not due for a new surface of asphalt now the original concrete is still what is used and I don't know of any spot on it where any repair work has ever been done on it. Just a little rough over the expansion joints now | |
