North of London | I agree it is a bit unnerving to think about big rigs navigating public roads with no driver just as it is hard for mw to envision riding in a car that drives itself.
My car has interactive cruise control.
Works great to follow traffic without changing the =cruise speed all the time.
I have allowed it to drive me to a stop at a traffic light while following the vehicle ahead.
While I held my foot above the brake all the time just in case the car drove itself to a safe stop behind the vehicle and followed that vehicle through the intersection and regained highway speed successfully and safely.
It will also steer itself down the road without me touching the steering wheel but although I have tried that on a road with no other traffic I can not bring myself to trust it completely.
It does beep at me whenever i get to close to centre line or edge of road unless i have turned on signal light
Supposed to have emergency braking too but have never tried that and hope I never have to. | |
