Strathcona, mn | Was having a conversation with my kids this last week. We were out in the shop having an impromptu wresrtling practice for my older girls as school was cancelled due to snow day. When we came out one of 11 year old twin boys was walking around the yard with a pair of my old snow shoes. One daughter asked hiw long I’d had them…. I responded about 25-30 years. She asked when did I ever use them? I said long before she was born when I did “fun” stuff like csnowshie into the boundary waters to ice fish and winter camp. Lowest temp we camped outside in was -30……. Lets just say that was an experience that at this point in my life I don’t need to duplicate. I can’t imagine doing that for an entire winter as pure survival. | |
