I suspect you will have better luck on the computer.  It will at least be easier to navigate!  As for switching her to an Andriod phone......it will not eliminate this "problem".  As much as we dislike the inconvenience of multi factor authentication, it is much less of a problem than hijacked accounts and stolen identities.
