Subject: RE: Vitamin D3

Pittsburg, Kansas

I'm sure being out in the sun every day down here is good for our health. I believe there is a lot more positives to sun exposure than just vitamin D3. I try to sit out in my speedo for 30 minutes every day mid afternoon and usually get it done 4-5 days a week.

That is what we thought and quit D3 supplementation while we were here in the winter last year.

Our D test was 75 the year before when we supplemented year round. Last year after quitting supplementing in the winter but being in Bonaire in the sun we tested around 65.

Both are adequate numbers but some of the on line doctors and some associational studies suggest maybe 80-100 might be the sweet spot. So we are again supplementing while we are down here nearer the equator and even taking more than we used to.

Have taken 5000 iu for probably 4-5 years now and 3000 a couple years before that. Currently my wife is taking 30,000 and I am taking 20,000.

We always have also taken K2 at the same time (in same pill).

Does it or has it done us any good??? Damned if I know. I have pretty much determined it is not going to hurt us and the minor cost of it only comes out of our kids inheritance so I do not worry about it. Maybe it will help a little, maybe it will not.

If i have a cold or flu it lasts a day or two. Ten years ago I could pretty well plan on being sick at least two times during the winter, usually for a week or a little more. Coincidence????? Damned if I know. But the pills haven't killed me yet so I will keep taking them.
