You might be asking the wrong question. The question one might ask:
What is the best way to enhance the biological activity of crop soils that provides a good ROI for corn & soybeans?
For someone under short term financial pressure how will that system compare to more lbs of NP or K?
Also, please consider there are a number of important commercial bioinsecticide & biofungicide products on the market. For example, Bacillus thuringienses (BT) either as a BT protein in GMO crops or over the top spray.There are also many others that are proven products.
