I don't think the self driving trucks will take over much, like you said it will most likely have to be a dedicated route, and we have trains for that.

Then again, the way the RRs seem to be going, maybe a 'truck route' for goods delivery might replace short train runs.


I disagree but I hope you're right. I believe the entire industry will be restructured around autonomous trucks. The reason people can't imagine it working is because they are envisioning everything else staying the same .
I can imagine ranchers out West laughing at this whole automobile thing 100 years ago. I bet they thought they'd never be able to drive out through the mountains.
