East of Broken Bow | The Wagos I have used, you can lock in the wires one at a time, which is one great thing about them. You can connect the wires one at a time without having to worry about the others coming loose. I like them very much for that reason when connecting things that may have several wires to splice with a light load, like a group of LED lights. Can splice as many as 5 wires, one at a time, without any of them coming loose as you add the next. Doing that with a wire nut is often difficult, as you need to get all of them inside the nut at once.
Now, I'm talking about the genuine Wago brand. Some of the knock-offs may not lock in each wire independently. This is one instance where I think buying the name brand Wago is worth the extra $$$. Some of the off brand knock-offs seem lighter built, and I even saw some that did not have the UL label on the box...I personally would not use those.
There have been tests done, and the genuine Wagos connect wires as good as any wire nut, and are easier to use, and much easier to replace. | |
