Hooker Twp,Ne | Wondered that myself several times. Wild animals that were hungry. Indians that would steal and take the women. Keep enough gun powder. Praire fires. Buffalo that would stampede. There had to be several whole families that perished and we have no recollection of who they were and where they died. I do remember the outhouse with sears catalog and wasp nest in top right hand corner, separating milk and cream, sleeping upstairs and taking glass of water along and next morning it being froze. We’ve come a long ways the last 60+ years and before.
