| Past couple of weeks it’s been cold in my area. Fighting frozen waters and frozen net wrap it’s been a trip. While fighting the cold I can’t help but think how did the original settlers survive? I understand the excitement of the home stead act. But how did they know what 160 was theirs? We are spoiled today with in door plumbing electric and heat. Hardware stores/ grocery stores. We definitely got to tip our hats to those that came long ago. They were some tough/smart people.
Does anyone know of a book or documentary on this topic of prairie state settlers? Thanks in advance | |
