I sold a truck that way once.  The truck had a small sleeper so I rode with on the test drive. It seem all they wanted was good sounding Jake brakes. Made the deal on the way back on test drive.     Then we all went to bank and ran the cash through the banks money counter and the right to the DMV and did title transfer and I think all parties made a fair transaction.
