 East of Broken Bow | I'd be one of those guys who's kochia seed sample would be contaminated with something like corn or soybeans.
Fun fact, kochia was at one time considered as a forage crop for cattle. It grows about anywhere, produces a lot of tonnage per acre, and has surprisingly good feed value if harvested at the proper stage. Seeded a new field of alfalfa, used standard (non gly) seed, and had patches of kochia come up. Neighbor asked what I was gonna do with it, I said bale it and feed it to cows. He thought I was nuts, but I sent a sample of a 'weedy' bale in for testing, and the nutrient levels were almost as good as the ones that were 90% alfalfa. | |
