Southeast WI | We went from premium pushing 3K per month for 4 of us about 7-8 years ago for v good ins. However that was not affordable. Went to ACA and premium was cut to roughly a 3rd of that but 10K deductibles. When the subsidies for covid went in affect premiums plummeted and paid about 400 per month for the 2 of us now. Jan 1 goes up to 1541 per month. If the other political party has a better plan then put it in place and THEN pull the subsidies back.
Nobody give me crap about the good old days of health insurance. We've been self employed since '97, had 2 babies born and raised since then and we had to switch plans and providers every few years because premiums kept soaring. Basically paid 10k for each daughter to be born. Those without ins or means paid nothing.
About time for the govt to grow a set and fix this and let everyone have decent health care plans. We never had another business subsidize our operations like so many do with spouse "working for insurance ". Again, health insurance for self employed has always been a pile of ****. Take off the rose colored glasses.
One more thing - before you state your opinion on health care your first sentence or 2 should be how you obtain YOUR health coverage like Fingers posted. Then we can have a conversation.
