Pittsburg, Kansas | I often scan through the comments. And I agree, a certain amount of flakes and "go along with iters" are always going to be there. And definitely a group will be there that has had similar results because those people tend to follow what has worked for them. I being one of them. I just don't listen to too many vegan oriented presentations, though I will once in a while. And even those presenters can have some good content, even though I do not agree with a lot of it.
But there sure seems to be an awfully lot of anecdotes, some in great detail, that support something other than conventional wisdom.
Are those on one end or the other of the Bell curve? Maybe. What works for one may not work for all. But I have determined by my own experience it is not a bad idea to at least consider alternative to mainstream ideas. Becuase once in a while, they might actually be correct.
Kind of like the stock market. You want to be with the crowd 95% of the time. It is the other 5% that might save a person from big losses or make great gains. Seems it may be the same way with medicine, disease and diet. Many times conventional wisdom is right. Probably most or a high percentage of time. But occasionally they are off the mark. And don't seem to be in a big hurry to adjust.
