NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | We love our asparagus around here. My folks planted a big patch in my back yard over 50 years ago & it's still produces more then my wife & I could possibly eat. We end up giving alot away. My wife tried blanching & freezing some years ago but we didn't care for it, to mushy tasting. I buy 50# bags of regular rock salt & spread through out the patch & it does a good job of controlling the weeds. After the last few days of 80 degrees weather it should be coming up pretty soon :-). Although it's supposed to cool down for awhile now. | |
