central Ia | Thought I was out of rennet tablets so bought some off the net they are Walcoren Natural tablets, went to make some Swedish Ostakaka usually use 2 tablets per gallon on milk dissolved in tap water, it didn't work no curds, left it for about 45 minutes and it did look like cottege cheese but no whey. Read the directions it said 1 tablet for 4 liters of milk and to use non-chlorine water. Got some distilled water, cut a tablet in half for a half gallon on milk, been probably 20 minutes and still no curds. Found my +QSO tablets and they work great curds in just a couple of minutes and no problem using tap water. Oh well just need to remember to buy the +QSO rennet | |
